My name is Jesenia Mercedes Sosa. I am in 8th grade. I was born in Honolulu, Hawaii. I moved to North Carolina when I was in first grade because my dad was in the military. I first fell in love with horses while watching a television show where a girl jumped competitively. My parents took us on a few trail rides during vacations and there was something about the horses that was incredibly calming for me. I tend to overthink and stress myself causing great anxiety.  

When I am on the horse, I am calm, no matter what has happened right before or while I am on the horse. I shared this with my mom and before I knew it, I was having my first lesson. I was so excited to start and to meet my trainer, Raj. I have been riding with Raj for a year. I am very anxious about competing but knowing that I will have Raj by my side helps me remain focused and it is still something I want to pursue. Any contributions to keeping my dream a reality is greatly appreciated.
