Help Me Cross The Finish Line To Help Students Cross The Stage!
Hello!
Growing up in South LA, I knew the importance of giving back to my community because I firsthand experienced what students still face inside and outside of school. That passion for my community only grew when I realized that the more things change, the more they stay the same. It has been 4 years since graduating out of LAUSD, it almost feels like yesterday when I listen to what my students tell me. I now realize the importance to be the person that I didn’t have growing up. To be a positive role model to our youth and say “If I can do it, so can you!”. To be a mentor to students and help them grow as global citizens and individuals. To be a tutor and help them grow as students and realize their academic potential.
City Year members come together every year to give support to students academically, socially, and emotionally, to help students stay in school and on track to graduate high school. However, that is only possible with donations from people like you! Who share the same passion for change, with a little change.
Since 2007,
