Hi everyone! My name is Vanessa Ramirez and I will be proudly running the LA Marathon this year for City Year!

I moved out here from two different places: originally from Waukegan, IL; but graduated from Denison University in Granville, OH. While in college, I double majored in Psychology and Educational Studies. With these majors I became very interested in the way that City Year supports students and schools.

City Year's work means a lot to me. City Year Los AngIes works on building incredible bonds with students and teachers, and make a small change in the lives of others. The work is done through serving within schools as tutors and mentors. 

Thanks to City Year, this year I will be running the Los Angeles Marathon on my GOLDEN BIRTHDAY (3/24)! With that, I am hoping to raise $700 for our organization because I believe what we do is worth every minute of my time in service.
