Lifescape 60+ Challenge

Donate 60+ dollars, volunteer 60+ minutes, and help community members 60+

May is annual Older Americans Month. Older Americans Month is a time to recognize the countless contributions that older adults make to our communities. In honor of Older Americans Month, Lifescape is organizing a community challenge.

The Lifescape 60+ Challenge is simple. During the month of May:

  • Donate 60 or more dollars to Lifescape’s programs and services.
  • Volunteer 60 or more minutes to an older adult in your life (This could be a neighbor, friend, family member, community member) or through a senior service organization.
  • And by donating and volunteering you are helping people in our community who are 60+!

A generous local community member has agreed to match all donations up to $25,000 to double the impact of the Lifescape 60+ Challenge!

Those that are interested in taking the challenge can make their donations directly on this site by clicking the "Donate Now" button or by going to the "Donate" tab a the top of the page. We are asking for donations of $60 or more dollars, but you can give whatever is comfortable for you and your situation. You could give $5, $20, $60, or even $600, whatever you give will provide valuable support to older adults in our region.

We are encouraging people to look for volunteer opportunities within their network. This could be volunteering to do some yard or house work for a neighbor, friend, or family member who is 60 years or older. It also could be visiting with a senior who you know is lonely or isolated and would appreciate the company. We want you to give back in a way that works for you and is most needed by the older adults in your life.

- Kelley Williamson Company will be holding their Keep The Wheels Turning icon sale during the month of May. You can purchase an icon at all local Kelly Williamson Mobile locations to support our Meals on Wheels Program.

- Stockholm Inn will be holding their Stockholm Inn for Seniors event to wrap up our month of fundraising. On Tuesday, May 31 half of Stockholm Inn's Swedish pancake sales benefit Lifescape!

- Fleet Feet Rockford will also be selling icons to support Lifescape and our variety of senior focused programs and services.
