Luke was born at 24 weeks weighing just 1lb 11 0z. He faced many medical issues throughout his long NICU stay including Retinopathy of Prematurity. ROP is a eye diesease effecting the blood vessels that can lead to blindness. From the the moment we brought him home, Lighthouse of Pinellas has been there for him and us. They stepped in when we were brand new parents facing an unfamiliar journey -offering hope, guidance and life-changing programs that have helped Luke learn, grow, and become independent. 

The White Cane Walk is more than just a day to celebrate independence - it's a lifeline for families like ours. The funds go directly to programs that teach mobility, technology skills, daily living strategies and confidence for people of all ages who are blind or visually impaired. Lighthouse provides these services at no cost to their clients and are able to do so only because of the generosity of donors and supporters like you!
