I’m thrilled to be participating in Literacy NJ 3 Day Challenge, a fundraiser supporting Literacy New Jersey, Inc. ! I’m passionate about this cause and need your help! Every donation—big or small—helps me reach my fundraising goal and directly impacts this important cause.

For the last several months I have had the pleasure of tutoring an adult basic literacy student through Literacy New Jersey and watching him grow. My student came to us unable to read and write and struggling at a job that degraded him for this. However, it was never his fault that the schooling system failed to uplift him. He is a hard worker and a fast learner with unmatched ambition to learn. He is a wonderful student who was simply dealt a difficult hand in the education system.

Present day, my student has graduated through several basic literacy books and is just as eager as ever to keep learning. He has learned to read and write choice words to get him started with only a little assistance when filling out job applications, writing emails and letters. This knowledge opens up a world of communication and professional opportunities for him, propelling him towards achieving his short and long term goals in life.
