I got involved with Literacy NJ during the pandemic after relocating to New Jersey from Florida and finding out that Literacy NJ reaches out to those in our community who want to improve their English skills or want to get their high school diploma.

High school level education was not available for my parents. My dad loved knowledge, he read a lot and he eventually received his high school diploma through an HSE program, similar to the program that I now coordinate. I am grateful to be part of a group that cares for our community.
