In 2019, I began a three-year volunteer journey with Literacy NJ. In my time as a tutor, I was privileged to meet people from all over the world. These students had the same goals my grandparents had when they came to this country in the early 1900s-- to learn/improve their command of the English language so that they, too, could strive toward the American dream.
