As many know, I began working with the students and staff of the Special Education department at Parkland High School almost 8 years ago and very quickly my life changed. I not only worked with the students, but developed friendships that I would forever cherish. I got advice from the incredible staff that I have carried with me to my current role as an Autistic Support teacher in Philadelphia. I would not be where I am or who I am if it weren't for these experiences I had. I am doing this run/walk to give back to the Lehigh Valley community of kids and families who gave so much to me and to encourage others to promote the acceptance of these amazing, unique individuals.
