In March, Ari and I lost our daughter, Olivia. I was 22 weeks pregnant, and I noticed I hadn't felt her move in awhile. I went to the doctor for what I thought would be a quick fetal doppler, and instead, after an ultrasound, I heard the words that would change our lives forever: "I'm sorry, there's no heartbeat."
I delivered Olivia 36 hours later. Despite a multitude of tests, we will likely never know what caused Olivia's heart to stop beating, just two days after our last ultrasound when she was so healthy and active, playing peekaboo and doing gymnastics.
