Kevin and Samantha got married in the summer of 2016. We knew we both wanted children and to start a family of our own, however, after 3 years without any luck, we decided to go to a fertility clinic. We had multiple tests done and were told we had unexplained infertility. The fertility doctor figured it wasn’t going to be a problem conceiving and on our last and final treatment we were blessed with a miracle!
Pregnancy didn’t even feel real until we had an ultrasound and saw the baby move and hear the heart beat. A few weeks later we found out we were having a boy and I’ll never forget the first time feeling him move. Bedtime was my favorite time of the day as that’s when he liked to move around and kick me. Kevin even got to feel him kick.
Up next was our anatomy scan and everything looked great with our little one!
A few weeks later at a routine doctors visit, they did an ultrasound and I was told there was no longer a heartbeat…
This felt like a nightmare, and was by far the WORST words you can hear as an expecting parent. Our son was head down, meaning a c-section was not necessary and Samantha could deliver naturally.
On Friday October 1, 2021 at 2:36 A.M. Eli Mateo Schneller was still born at 24 weeks and 2 days.
This walk/run isn’t only to remember our son, but all babies, infants and children who were lost too soon.
