Join Literacy New Jersey for a Five Day Literacy Fundraising challenge

As Program Director of LNJ Monmouth, I am extremely proud to be working with so many dedicated tutors and ESL and basic literacy students, all of whom never stopped learning during this most trying year and a half.

In fiscal year 2021, 60 tutors worked with over 120 students virtually using Zoom, FaceTime and WhatsApp. LNJ provided technology assistance and tutor resources were shared throughout the programs.

Here are some success stories:

Samah got her citizenship
Jason learned to read traffic signs
Sofia got her library card
Valerie got her drivers's license
Natasha finished dog grooming school and got a job

Due to the pandemic and the need to revert to virtual learning, LNJ had to develop new training for tutors and add digital technology classes to help students. Thus the costs of providing our services have gone up.
