I joined Literacy New Jersey as a Program Coordinator in January of 2021 and have been inspired by this community of students and tutors every day since. Despite the many challenges of this past year and a half, our students and tutors have remained commited to their educational goals and have adapted to new ways of learning and connecting. 

In fiscal year 2021, 35 Ocean and Atlantic-Cape tutors worked with over 70 local students virtually using Zoom, FaceTime and WhatsApp. LNJ provided technology assistance, online curricular support, and tutor resources to ensure that instruction continued and was accessible to our students looking to imporove their English language skills, obtain their high-school diplomas, and prepare for their citizenship exams.
