I've been volunteering with Literacy New Jersey since March of 2021. It has been one of the most rewarding experiences I have had the privilege to have. My student tells me that learning English is a dream for her. She is so very grateful for the two hours per week that we spend together. I am honored to work with her. Why am I asking you to donate? Most importantly, our service is free to our students, and we are in need of resources. Tutors and students alike need books and workbooks. We also need to reach more people... during the pandemic, adults with less than a high school diploma suffered the highest unemployment rate (proliteracy.org). We also need tutors!! Volunteering two hours per week will change not only your students' lives, but your own.
