Join Literacy New Jersey for a 5 Day Literacy Challenge: 

Hello  Everybody! I, Betty, am a Literacy NJ volunteer. Currently, I have 3 students that I meet with twice a week. My students include a former nursery school teacher from Nicaragua, a high school math teacher from Brazil, and an accountant from Mexico. Here, in the US, they are either cleaning houses or washing dishes in a restaurant. Why? Because their English skills are lacking.

My goal is to give these incredible people a chance to make a better life for themselves and their children. With improved English skills, they can become US citizens, vote, and enter careers that give their families a chance to succeed.
