Ten years ago on October 22, 2015; I gave birth to a beautiful little boy. That boy is Caius or Cai for short. He is my second son, little brother to Bain and big brother to Finnick, Malec, Hale, and Ayla. He isn't here. No, he is not here on earth. He is not growing up with his siblings. In one breath; our family said hello and farewell to Caius. Caius died and we live every single day with and without him. We realize that it is hard for others to fathom that we our a family of 8 but with only 7 present. However, it's even more difficult for us to not acknowledge Caius in our family, to never hold space for him, to ignore both his presence and absence... We will never do that, we could never do that. Cai is forever written into the history of our hearts and we love and miss him every single day. He is always included because he is ours and we are his. Yes, it may seem weird and confusing but we also know we're not alone. Lydie's Loop is a testament to the love of so many families for their babies, for their children held in our hearts instead of our arms. So, please do not judge the grieving mother, father, siblings, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and so on. We all love and miss our babies beyond explanation. Instead share your support by joining us at Lydie's Loop, say our children's names and allow us the grace to be who we are; whether or not you understand our families. We know we are different but we are still beautiful and have so much love to share, especially for our children unseen.
