Vision: Through our prayer, commitment, and collaboration–advancing the kingdom of God with a new translation of the "JESUS" film.
Please join us in raising enough money to translate the "JESUS" film into a new language. This film is about the life of Jesus Christ and taken straight from the Book of Luke. It is the most translated film in history but still more than half the world has not heard the Gospel, and half of those cannot read or write and remain lost without Christ. Currently, there are 865 “people groups” (people who share a common heart language) of 50,000 speakers or more without the “JESUS” film version in their own dialect.
Luke 4:4 from the Amplified Bible says: "And Jesus replied to him, It is written, Man shall not live and be sustained by (on) bread alone but by every word and expression of God."
We have talked with several full-time missionaries as well as those on short-term mission trips who have been present at film showings in villages. They expressed the great value the film has in helping people understand the Gospel message.
Our Bible Study group will choose a people group once most of the funding has been raised. We do not want to hold back a specific people group from getting a film while we are waiting for funding to be completed.
When this film is translated into a new language, it may be the first or only time some of these people will ever hear God's words in their own language. We also need to pray for the selection of the people who will speak the various parts of the film, their recording of the spoken words, and for those who will eventually watch the film.
If you look at the 4th picture on this page you will see where Don is experiencing a short recording session at the Jesus Film (CRU) headquarters in Florida. To say the lines in sync with the movie proves to be much more difficult than it looks, but they know how to get it done accurately.
Once the film is recorded in the new language, the message of hope and salvation will be taken to men, women and children lost and living in spiritual darkness. We have seen that spiritual darkness in our travels. It is darkness beyond anything like we have seen in the USA. This film will bring the light of Christ to the hearts and souls of many thousands, even tens of thousands, in the years ahead.
Every dollar moves us closer to a new group of people hearing the Gospel in the language they most understand—the language they learned as a child. Because each one of us is doing our part, it will make a difference. And, through this new translation, lives will be touched and hearts transformed now and for eternity!
There are missionaries and local church leaders awaiting the Gospel on film—the “tool of choice”—to reach their people for Christ. People who can't read will be able to hear the Gospel. Through our prayers and donations each of us will have a part in making God come alive in a new language.
