Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to know how to play Mahjong to attend?
Not at all! Many of our players are beginners. If you're new to Mahjong, you can choose our Beginner Ticket, which includes a private lesson with WTX Mahjong the evening before the event. This relaxed session is designed to help you learn the basics and feel comfortable before the big day. All beginner ticket holders will attend the same learning session the night before. When registering, you’ll also choose whether you’d like to participate in the lunch or dinner play session on the day of the event. Beginner tickets are individual registrations, and we will assign you to a table for play. 

What’s the difference between the lunch session and the dinner session?
Both sessions offer the same Mahjong experience and access to auction items. The only difference is the time of day and the meal served.

  • Lunch Session: 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM (buffet lunch included)

  • Dinner Session: 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM (buffet dinner included)

Can I attend both sessions?
Yes! If you’d like to play twice, you’re welcome to register for both sessions as long as space is available.

What is a VIP table?
VIP tables offer an upgraded experience with butler service, extra table space, and additional comfort and goodies for you and your guests. VIP tables are limited and tend to sell out quickly.

Can I reserve a table with my friends?
Yes! When you register, you can reserve a full table so you and your friends can play together.

What does my ticket include?
Your ticket includes:

  • Entry to your chosen Mahjong session

  • Buffet meal (lunch or dinner depending on your session)

  • Mahjong play

  • Access to our silent auction and event activities

When do doors open?

  • Lunch Session: Doors open at 10:30 AM

  • Dinner Session: Doors open at 5:30 PM

We recommend arriving early to check in, browse auction items, and get settled before play begins.

Will there be auction items?
Yes! We’ll have a variety of spectacular auction items available to bid on during the event.

Where do the proceeds go?
All proceeds benefit KWO Ministries, helping provide safe homes, education, meals, and care for orphans, as well as employment and housing for widows in Kenya.

Bring your Mahjong set, a friend (or three!), and a generous spirit ready to make a difference.
