Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ

1. Can I participate in the auction if I am unable to attend the Gala in-person?

Yes! That is one of the most exciting things about our auction changes this year. If you would like to participate in the auction but are unable to attend in-person, please “purchase” a registration for “Virtual Auction Bidder.” The cost for this registration is free.

2. How do I register multiple guests if I purchased more than one ticket?

If you are purchasing tickets for more than one person, you are able to begin to register them with their email address. They will then receive an email notification where they can continue  their registration. Please see below for more information.

3. How do I manage check-in and participate in the auction?

Either before or once you arrive at the Gala, you have the opportunity to download the Givi application onto your phone (more information on the app HERE). The app enables you to participate in the auction in more real-time, and access other information for the evening. It also allows you opt-in for push notifications if you have been out-bid, and to check out for any auction items you have won.

There is also a web address provided should you not wish to download the application. The web address link will enable you to receive emails if you have been outbid. You may also access other information for the evening’s event here.

4. How do I check-out if I won an auction item?

If you utilized the Givi app, the app will provide instructions. If you used the web address or would like an alternative to online payment, please see a board member.

Board members are stationed at the end of the event near the categories of auction items to help you check out and collect your items.

Purchasing Multiple Tickets

If you choose to purchase multiple tickets, you’ll be able to assign your additional tickets to guests at the time of purchase by filling in your guests’ email addresses under Guest Information.

If you aren’t sure who you want to invite yet, you can leave guest information blank. For more information on managing your tickets, see below.

When you’ve finished registering, you’ll see the same confirmation page you would see for a single ticket purchase, but you can click the arrows to see all of your ticket codes.

Tickets you assigned during registration will appear with the guest’s name and a “Ticket Sent” badge. Unassigned tickets will simply say “Participant,” instead of a guest’s name.

You can also click Print Your Ticket to generate a printable PDF of all your tickets. Each ticket has a unique code, which you and your guests will use to enter the auction and bid on items.

Managing Multiple Tickets

Purchasing multiple auction tickets is especially common if the auction offers a way to register for a table or group of tickets as a single package. Since you aren’t generally going to use more than one ticket yourself, you’ll want to share your additional tickets with guests.

After you complete registration on the web, you’ll see a link near the bottom of the confirmation page that invites you to Manage Your Tickets.

You’ll also receive an email that contains a link to this page. In your inbox, look for a message with a subject line that includes, “Manage Your [Auction Name] Tickets.”

In the body of the email, click View and Manage Tickets, which will take you back to the registration confirmation page.

After you click Manage Tickets, you’ll go to the Manage Your Tickets page. From here, you can send, resend, and reassign tickets.

If the Email textbox for a Participant is blank, you have not yet sent that ticket. Fill in an email address and click Send Ticket to invite a new guest.

If you already sent a ticket but your guest did not receive the email, you can resend a ticket by clicking the Resend Ticket button next to a Participant’s email address.

Sometimes a guest you invited has to decline, or maybe you incorrectly typed a guest’s email address. If you need to reassign a ticket to send it to someone else, click Edit Registration below the Email box.
