The Marand Builders Scholarship Fundis dedicated to expanding educational opportunities for first-generation and under-resourced students in our community pursuing careers in engineering, STEM fields, and the technical trades.
Our belief is that through targeted education in engineering and technical careers, we ensure upward economic mobility for students from under-resourced backgrounds. By investing in high-achieving, driven individuals, the fund transforms academic success into real-world impact and easing the financial burden of education and allowing students to remain focused on their studies and long-term career goals.
Since 2016, in partnership with Central Piedmont, the Carolina Youth Coalition (CYC), and Latin Americans Working for Achievement (LAWA), more than $1.5 million in scholarships has been funded through the annual Clay Shoot fundraiser and the Alvarado family’s continued commitment, awarding over 300 scholarships valued at $5k each.
