Milt Carl Way Awards Dinner

Join us for a dinner to honor the legacy of an icon in our community

Milt Carl (z"l) was an icon in our community: a tremendous soul, a mensch, a terrific father and grandfather, and a leader who changed the landscape of the Portland Jewish Community.  Two organizations were especially important to him: B'nai B'rith Camp and Congregation Shaarie Torah.

In 2019 we joined together to create the Milt Carl Way Award, that honors those who do it "Milt's Way."  Those who care deeply about the Jewish Community.  Those who do profound work for many organizations.  Those who feel most themselves when they are giving their time and personal resources.  Most importantly, those who are dedicated to encouraging others to enjoy the immense pleasure of giving and to seeing the amazing results of a community coming together to make something new a reality.

We are delighted to announce the 2022 honorees, each of whom embodies the values of Milt and have led and raised funds for numerous organizations.  Please join us in congratulating:

Priscilla Kostiner • Irving Potter • Linda Nemer Singer

PRISCILLA, IRV & LINDA WILL BE HONORED AT THIS YEAR'S EVENT ON

THURSDAY, DECEMBER 15th 6 PM

at Congregation Shaarie Torah

920 NW 25th AVENUE, PORTLAND

To many leaders in the community, Milt was a mentor in how to conduct oneself in business, in philanthropy, and in life.  If you Google directions to B'nai B'rith Camp, you'll see that you turn onto "Milt Carl Way".  The name does not just refer to a street but rather a philosophy of how to conduct yourself in the world: to spend your time supporting others, volunteering your time, donating a bit extra "until it hurts just a little," and always asking others to give.

Your support will honor the legacy of Milt Carl and the dedication of these outstanding honorees.  Funds raised through this event will benefit the Milt Carl Campership Endowment at BB Camp and the Milt & Cissi Carl Youth Education Fund at Congregation Shaarie Torah.
