Milt Carl (z”l) was a pillar of our community—an icon whose warmth, generosity, and dedication transformed the Portland Jewish landscape. BB360 (formally known as B’nai B’rith Camp) and Congregation Shaarie Torah were particularly close to his heart. In 2019, we established the Milt Carl Way Award to honor those who embody his passion for community, philanthropy, and inspiring others to give back.
These honorees care deeply about the Jewish Community, do profound work for many organizations, and feel most themselves when they are giving of their time and resources. Most importantly, these honorees encourage the community to come together and make something new a reality all through the lens of giving.
We are thrilled to announce our 2025 honorees, each of whom reflects Milt’s spirit and has raised awareness and funds for countless causes:
Renee Holzman & Larry Holzman • Howard & Wendy Liebreich • Sheldon Klapper
