Mr. Graber Grant Wish -- 

This grant would be used for an orchestra classroom set of 35 D'Addario Clip-On Tuners.

These tuners are essential to the success of an orchestra ensemble, as each student needs to tune their individual instrument down to the exact same pitch frequency so they can accurately play in tune with each other. Orchestra instruments can go out of tune within a matter of minutes of playtime, so they need to be tuned every single day and oftentimes multiple times a day. 

 Currently, we only have enough school tuners for approximately 1/4 of the class. This means students either need to share tuners, which either takes up precious learning time, or the instruments stay out of tune because students can't access the tuner in time, which results in poor performance and a poor learning environment. 

McKinney ISD Fine Art programs are some of our most cherished activities that our students participate in. This project is essential to keep the quality of the Dowell Orchestra program and student achievement to the highest level possible.
