Mrs. Tousant's Grant Wish -- 

Oftentimes, students who are pulled from class because they are below grade level, have a negative outlook on support. They are already feeling defeated and feel viewed as someone who doesn't know anything. These students are most likely a grade or two behind and they need support in areas that are learning gaps for them. My goal as an interventionist is to let those students know that support is POSITIVE and to celebrate students’ knowledge gain (small or large) as I support them. I will focus on celebrating the effort that students put forth as they work with me on specific goals, as well as the success of mastering those goals. I will use a variety of rewards, tangible items and verbal praise to help with this.
