I enjoy traveling, playing golf, projects around the house, and spending time with family.

Why is it important to you to give back (to the SECU Family House)?

The SECU Family House provides stability for people in a time of need, offering comfort and compassion during stressful times. The SECU Family House needs the support of the local community to sustain their important mission.

What was the first thing you remember cooking?

My first cooking memory is baking German Christmas stollen with my grandfather. Stollen is a yeast bread that is baked with dried fruits, candied citrus peel, nuts and spices.

Name a fun fact people may not know about you.

I have two dogs that are sister and brother rescues, Cara and Finn.

What can we find you doing when you're not whipping up a dish for Men Who Cook?

You can find me at Symphony events, browsing the shelves at Bookmarks, or at home enjoying some time on the patio with my wife Kate and our elderly chihuahua.

Why is it important to you to give back (to the SECU Family House)?

We're lucky to have two great hospital systems here in Winston-Salem, and the SECU Family House is an invaluable resource for so many families who need to visit our community for those lifesaving resources. SECU Family House is Winston Under 40's 2023 Community Partner, and participating in Men Who Cook is a great way to celebrate and support this important organization.

What was the first thing you remember cooking?

Probably eggs and omelettes when I was pretty young. The first time I decided to combine scrambled eggs, rice, cheese, and a whole lot of salsa in a bowl, I thought I was pretty clever.

Name a fun fact people may not know about you.

I was born and raised in Fargo, ND so I can cook a mean tater tot hotdish.

What can we find you doing when you're not whipping up a dish for Men Who Cook?

I enjoy hosting friends, playing board games, going out to breweries, and playing guitar in my free time.

Why is it important to you to give back (to the SECU Family House)?

SECU Family House and other organizations like it provide an incredible service to families going through difficult and sometimes traumatic times. Supporting the Family House means supporting those members of the community in a real and tangible way. My own family has received kindness and support from similar organizations back home as my grandfather underwent treatment. The financial and emotional toll of having a sick loved one is severe and any help I can give is time well spent.

What was the first thing you remember cooking?

Spaghetti

I taught myself how to lockpick with a youtube video when I locked myself out of my apartment in college.
