Social media is a great way to tell your friends, family, and social network about your fundraising efforts and encourage their support. While you're at it, like and follow us on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Instragram. @JARockyMountain

Social Media Tips

  • Ask, but also inform and thank: The goal of your fundraiser is to get donations, but also be sure to first inform people about your JA Bowl-A-Thon and thank them for their support to avoid annoying them with constant asks.
  • Personalize your posts: We’ve created these post templates for your convenience, but feel free to alter these or come up with your own to add a personal touch. For example, if you’ve participated in a previous JA Bowl-A-Thons or have volunteered for JA, share your experience in a post.


  • As of August 1st, 2018 Facebook no longer allows third party applications to automate posting to your page or timline, therefore you need to copy and paste our Facebook templates. However, you can still share a link directly to your personal and team fundraising pages by logging into your personal dashboard and clicking the "Share Event" tab.

  • Set your goal and share it through your status updates.
  • Change your profile pic or header.
  • Tell your followers why this event is important to you and ask them to support your fundraising efforts.
  • Share the link for your personal fundraising page for the JA Bowl-A-Thon in every post.
  • Talk about your progress.
  • Make sure to publically thank your donors! In your post, type an @ and their name, names should appear in the drop box. Select their name to tag.

  • Check our or complete list of Twitter post templates by logging into your personal dashbaord and clicking the "Share Event" tab. 
  • Shorten links on Twitter: To make the most of the 280-character limit, shorten links to your fundraising page. Twitter automatically shortens ALL links to 23 characters (leaving room for 257 characters), but you can also use
  • Change your profile pic or header. 
  • Use our hashtag and tag Junior Achievement so others can search and find your posts: #BowlingForABrighterFuture. You can also use common hashtags like #motivationmonday, #teamtuesday, #thankfulthursday, #feelgoodfriday.
  • Retweet and recognize your donors with @ and their name.
  • Follow us on Twitter at @JARockyMountain and retweet our posts with messages about why this cause is important to you.
