My Personal Fundraising Page

Thank you for visiting my NYCGMC fundraising page!

Ever since I joined the New York City Gay Men’s Chorus in 2004, I have been thrilled and honored to perform with this amazingly talented, tirelessly hard-working, volunteer organization. NYCGMC does so much to advocate for LGBT inclusion, equality, and social justice, through our songs and our actions. But we can't do it alone. That's why I'm asking for your help today before our 2018 campaign ends at 11:59 PM on October 31st.

I'm thrilled because we have appeared at such iconic venues as Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center in NYC and many other locations in the US and beyond, including London, Dublin, and Mexico City. We have shared the stage with award-winning superstars from Broadway, opera, TV, and cinema. Music knows no limits, borders or walls.

I'm honored because NYCGMC is renowned for taking a leading role in the movement for social justice and equal rights. From the advent of the AIDS crisis to the struggle for marriage equality to singing out against bullying and transphobia, NYCGMC has been producing innovative programs that not only entertain but also inspire, educate, and empower, and enrich, to change people's lives. We offer a public face and a powerful voice for those who might not be visible, or able, to speak for themselves.

NYCGMC does so much: for almost 40 years, NYCGMC and our parent organization Big Apple Performing Arts has been producing legendary performances, commissioning new works, and advocating for the LGBT community.

Our songs touch people's lives not only at concerts but also at corporate and municipal events, community outreach programs, LGBT Pride festivals, and at same-sex weddings, in hospitals, and memorial services. We also help smaller LGBT non-profit community organizations raise the funds that they need to flourish.

We can't do it alone: NYCGMC is much more than just a community choral group. As an all-volunteer, non-profit organization of 250+ members, our work wouldn't be possible without the generous support of our family, friends, and allies. Chorus members pay annual dues and cover many of the music and production expenses (including all of our own travel and lodging costs when we perform outside of NYC) but it's still not enough: the costs of producing concerts in NYC can be staggering.

That's why we need your help TODAY to strengthen our financial health, which enables us to maintain our standing as both a renowned New York City artistic institution and a powerful advocacy organization for social justice and equality.

I'm asking for your help: As we begin the 2018-19 season, I'm hoping that you can show your appreciation and support for all that we do. Making a tax-deductible donation through this site is simple, fast and secure. No donation is too small (or too large!) and any amount will be put to good use, and greatly appreciated - and please be sure to do it before 11:59 pm mon Wednesday, Oct.31st.

Many of you have made generous donations in the past, and in doing so, you've enabled me to be the #2 fundraiser in the Chorus in 2016, and #1 in 2015 AND in 2017. I'm hoping to be #1 for my second year in a row, and third overall. With your help I know I can do it.

Thanks so much for your support!
