I'm beginning my second season in the NYC Gay Men's Chorus and I couldn't be happier. My first year in the group brought me more than I ever expected when I joined:
- I sang in a holiday show that brought me more Christmas joy than any NYC Christmas before (and I *really* LOVE Xmas in New York)
- I cried while singing a Kesha song
- I sang at a sold-out Barclay's Center with Demi Lovato
- I sang my favorite David Bowie album while wearing a spray painted NASA spacesuit
- My father accompanied me while I shopped for glitter and my mother stayed out til midnight for post-show cocktails
- I started looking forward to Mondays
- I made literally hundreds of new friends
This is the Chorus's 40th season, and I am so grateful to all my brothers in song who came before me, endured the AIDS crisis, allowed me to do all of the above, and grew us to the family we are today.
We need your help to continue bringing the joy of our music and the passion of our community outreach to NYC and beyond, and I am thankful for any gift of any size you'd be able to make.
