Welcome to the NYCGMC 2022 Annual Fundraising Drive!
The New York City Gay Men’s Chorus is an internationally renowned performing arts institution in New York City and a pioneering voice for the LGBTQ+ community. Through the power of song, NYCGMC challenges people’s perceptions of the LGBTQ+ community, combats fear and hatred, encourages compassion and human connection, and thrills audiences with inspiring performances. NYCGMC champions social justice and embraces the values of diversity, inclusion, equity, and intersectionality.
When the Covid pandemic forced everything to shut down in early 2020, NYCGMC faced the same fate as most people and organizations in NYC: we had to stop doing what we always did, and figure out how to survive. Like many NYers, we weathered that storm and we now look forward to doing what NYCGMC has always done best: producing amazing concert performances and conducting important LGBTQ+ community outreach. But without being able to solicit donations or generate funding over the past two years, as we head into our 2022-23 season we find ourselves in even greater need of financial support than ever before.
Our performances: NYCGMC’s 2022-23 season will consist of three major concerts, in December 2022, March 2023, and June 2023. For more information and ticket sales, please visit us at: www.nycgmc.org.
NYCGMC has raised money for AIDS in the US and Europe; we donated a concert performance in Dublin, Ireland, to their same-sex marriage agenda (which resulted in marriage equality being approved by a public vote); we have consoled the country with our appearance on Good Morning America following the Pulse Club shooting in Florida; we have celebrated our great artists with an appearance on the 2022 Tony Awards on nationaal television. Besides these performannces we also have a school outreach program that has served over 2,000 NYC public middle and high school students. We have appeared at LGBTQ+ teen homeless shelters, at SAGE (Services and Advocacy for older LGBTQ+ people), and at corporate and public pride celebrations.
With the generosity of friends and family, I'm sure that NYCGMC will rise up like the proverbial Phoenix from the grey ashes of Covid, and once again inspire our supporters and loyal audience members with our vibrant, musical rainbow of song. We truly need your support today more than ever.
