How does the gala benefit the families of Magdalena House?

The gala raises approximately a third of Magdalena House’s budget. Your gifts and contributions help meet the unique needs of each family. Women and their children receive wraparound services and 24/7 support in a home-like environment, full of hope and accountability. Utilizing a dual-generation approach, we provide safe homes in an expansive natural environment, basic needs, and educational programming, nurturing community, and therapeutic services.

Mothers attend accredited academic programs year-round, including college, high school, GED, or ESOL. They participate in peer enrichment group covering a variety of wellness topics and parenting classes. Families stay with us for multiple years until they have completed their educational goals. They are provided case management, connected to community resources, and assisted with legal services. Special community gatherings and events for families model and cultivate positive, supportive relationships.

Threaded throughout our programs and community life are holistic therapeutic services designed to foster self-awareness and emotional healing. Both mother and child develop the social, emotional, educational, and financial skills needed to ensure their physical, economic, and spiritual well-being when they leave Magdalena House.

What time should I arrive at the event?

The event will begin at 6:00 PM. Arriving at 5:30 PM will allow time for you to utilize our valet services and check in to the event just in time to start bidding on silent auction items and enjoying cocktail hour!

What is the dress code?

Formal attire is preferred: suit and tie, evening or cocktail dress.

Will my tickets arrive in the mail?

Once you have registered, you will receive an email and from there you can create an account to manage your ticket(s) and guests. You will have the option to use a digital ticket through your account or print your ticket.

Can I purchase a ticket on the evening of the event?

Yes, however, tables are normally full prior to our event. We encourage you to purchase your seat/s before the event.

Is this an in-person, hybrid, or virtual event?

We are thrilled to share that this event will be fully in-person!

Can I stay at La Cantera Resort & Spa prior to and/or on the night of the event?

Yes, we encourage you to book a room with La Cantera Resort & Spa. Take the day after the gala to play a round of golf or enjoy their luxurious spa.

How will I be able to place bids on items?

Please download the Givi application onto your smartphone. This app will ask you to log in to your account and enter payment information. From there, you will be able to view all silent auction items and other items for purchase once bidding opens at 6:00 PM on October 7, 2023.

How can I purchase auction and other items at the event?

Our preferred method of payment is with a credit card through the Givi App. We can process cash and check payments as well.

How do I receive items I have purchased and/or won?

Sponsors and attendees at the Presenting, Paddles Up, Platinum, and Gold levels have the benefit of auction item delivery to your home. We will also have a check-out table set up at the close of the event for you to pick up your items.

What can I expect at the afterparty?

Our afterparty will commence on the patio, it is located right outside of the doors to where cocktail hour is held. It will feature live music, a cash bar, and space to sit and chat with friends or get up and dance! Complimentary snacks and non-alcoholic beverages will also be provided.

One of my guests is unable to attend. Can I bring a different guest last minute?

Absolutely, please reach out to us through gala@maghouse.org to share their name and contact information.

What if I am unable to attend? Can I contribute in another way?
