On April 10th, 2024 our world turned upside down. Our baby girl Alessandra was stillborn. I was 34 weeks into my pregnancy when I noticed decreased movement. Two weeks prior to that I  had been to the hospital for the same reason and they released me after monitoring us for several hours and performing numerous tests and ultrasound. Two weeks later, I decided to use the home Doppler I had purchased in the beginning of the pregnancy which I used every so often to hear my baby’s heartbeat. This time, I couldn’t find one. We rushed to the hospital and our worst nightmare was confirmed. Our precious baby was gone. We were devastated. It’s so heartbreaking how you can go from feeling the biggest joy of your life to the biggest despair and desperation in the blink of an eye. Right away I started searching for answers and purpose. In that search, I came across Star Legacy Foundation and their mission became my mission. My desire is to honor my baby’s life by helping raise awareness to stillbirth and hopefully help other families avoid such tragedy from happening to them.
