Afghanistan Needs Your Help

Afghanistan is currently facing the world's largest humanitarian crisis. From depletion of food, collapsed health-care systems, and the Coronavirus, millions of citizens are in desperate need of any aid. By providing a small donation today, you can alleviate the pain and hardships of many Afghans.

Children are the most vulnerable among us. We must protect them.

Improving children’s daily lives by safe-guarding them against illness; providing them with educational opportunities; and by giving them access to proper nutrition, water, and sanitation services can also provide a cushion that would help alleviate suffering in emergency situations. Perhaps most important, those basic resources can provide a world of hope to children for a brighter future.

We Need YOUR Help

As much as we’ve been able to achieve in helping children in need, there is still so much more to do. If we work together—with YOU—we can make the vision of a better living condition for our vulnerable children a reality.

IRUSA has pledged to $2.1 million to help the Afghans fleeing conflict, poverty, and drought arriving to America through the regional offices in Kabul, Balkh, Herat, and Nangar-har provinces. Through YOUR donations and with the help of our donors, more than 65,000 orphans are being sponsored by the global Islamic Relief community masha’Allah!

What your donation will provide for a family:

$25          Basic Household Resources

Focus On Afghanistan

Even before the Taliban seized power in Afghanistan in August, poverty and food insecurity were widespread due to back-to-back droughts, economic decline, protracted conflict and the pandemic.

But three months after the takeover, the crisis has rapidly worsened. Billions of dollars of foreign development aid had dried up, depriving the country of money that had been propping up the economy, key services, and aid workers.

Half of Afghanistan’s 30 million people are under 18. They are exposed to extreme situations of violence and abuse due to ongoing fighting, displacement, a poor economy, and harmful social norms and practices. The increased number and frequency of conflict-related incidents has caused an alarming rise in child casualties.
