Asalamualikum, we are the Institute of Knowledge, and we wish we spoke from a different time. As you know, since October of 2023, chaos has erupted in Palestine and its inhabitants, particularly those in Gaza continue suffering numerous counts of human rights violations. Since then, the attacks have not backed down, and their suffering is broadcasted for the world to see. As you read this, at least 34,356 Palestinians, including more than 14,500 children and 8,400 women have been killed (Yaqeen Institute). Yet despite this, they are united in belief that Allah has something better for them planned. And we as Muslims cannot sit idle, watching our brothers and sisters walk everyday expecting to be blown into bits, watching emaciated children search for food as there is barely enough to survive, and watching people lose their parents, siblings, children, and spouses. Allah states in Surah Maidah Verse 32: “...Whoever kills a soul unless for a soul or for corruption [done] in the land - it is as if he had slain mankind entirely. And whoever saves one - it is as if he had saved mankind entirely.” It is our duty then, as part of the Ummah of our Prophet ﷺ, who would rather tie stones on his body than eat if it meant his companions had to starve, to aid the Muslims suffering in Gaza.
