More than a victim, George Floyd was a man whose character and faith were demonstrated in his service to the community, especially in his mentorship of at-risk youth.
To honor his legacy, the George Floyd Scholarship would be awarded to a current MJC student who is selected as exemplary in 1) the mentorship of at-risk youth, or 2) other community service.
Reaching the goal would fund 2 scholarships of $500 each. If more than the target amount is raised, more scholarships could be awarded in the current or future academic years.
