I am excited to share our Moms Matter fundraiser with you. We need your help to keep doing this amazing work. If everyone gives $25 we can cover a months operating expenses.
The work we do is something I feel strongly about and today I am asking you to join me in supporting the care they give to moms and babies in Detroit.
Did you know that Detroit has the highest infant mortality in the country and if you are a black mother you are three times more likely to die than a white mother?
The Luke Clinic was started 7 years ago to provide free prenatal care to reduce both the infant and maternal mortality rates. We offer a one-stop-shop where patients have access to childcare, a hot meal for the family, help with transportation, ultrasound services, antenatal testing, immunizations, laboratory services, patient education programming, a clothing and infant resource closet, insurance navigation, and a mobile mother and baby clinic!
I am proud to support their work and ask you to join me. If everyone gives $25 together we will raise a substantial amount.
