Mark your calendars for the 16th Annual Mutt Strut, presented by Creative Dog Training, on Saturday, April 11, 2026! Birmingham's favorite dog-friendly 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run returns to Homewood Central Park, and this year we're celebrating The One Where We All Run for a Good Cause.

Since Hand in Paw turns 30 in 2026, we're turning back the clock to the '90s with a Friends theme that's sure to make you say "How YOU doin'?" So dig out your oversized flannel, perfect your Rachel haircut, and get ready to pivot your way through a morning of fun, community, and four-legged cuteness — all in support of Hand in Paw's life-changing Animal-Assisted Therapy programs.

Whether you're as competitive as Monica, as laid-back as Phoebe, or somewhere in between, Mutt Strut welcomes runners and walkers of all skill levels, dogs on leashes, and kids of all ages for this non-chipped race. Strollers are allowed on the course.
