BLUE JEAN BINGO: YOU'VE GOT A FRIEND
Join us for our 17th anual Blue Jean Bingo celebration of community, friendship, and hope for a better future for those impacted by mental health conditions. Having social connections and support is essential to our collective well-being. Everyone needs a friend and a champion. You are not alone.
ATTIRE: Come as you are (in jeans!) and wear green for mental health awareness month (green tops, green hair, green sunglasses, green hats, green nails...whatever makes you feel the best).
EVENT: Dinner, drinks (beer/wine/soda), 5 games of bingo with cash prizes, silent auction, raffles, fun and joy. All proceeds support NAMI's free, local mental health programs and services.
SCHEDULE: 5-6:30 PM Registration, Silent Auction, Drinks, Friends | 6:30 pm Guests, Dinner, Program, Fun
HONORING:
MEG KISSINGER - friend of NAMI, Pulitzer Prize finalist, national award-winning reporter, writer, and author of While You Were Out
MARY MADDEN - NAMI’s Executive Director who is retiring after 17 years of support, advocacy, and friendship
"We find our greatest bliss in moments of collective effervescence... the sense of energy and harmony people feel when they come together in a group around a shared purpose."
"You can feel depressed and anxious alone, but it’s rare to laugh alone or love alone. Joy shared is joy sustained.” - Adam Grant
Social connectedness is a fundamental social determinant of health, and it can affect the health of entire communities. Being kind, empathetic, and inclusive, builds healthier communities where everyone feels like they belong. No matter what you are going through, you belong and you are not alone.

*Our honorees this year have spent their careers seeing people as people, and not as symptoms of their illness. They model genuine acceptance, kindness, dignity, and care for indivduals impacted by mental illness. Their collective efforts have helped improve the understanding of mental illness, reduced stigma and created spaces where everyone belongs..
