For over 93 years, the Neighborhood Boys & Girls Club (NBGC) has been a pillar of strength, support, and opportunity for youth and families on Chicago’s North Side. Founded in 1931, NBGC provides a welcoming space where kids can learn, grow, and lead—both on and off the field.
NBGC specializes in out-of-school programming, athletics, and youth leadership development, serving hundreds of children annually through after-school programs, seasonal sports leagues, summer camps, and our signature Leader Program. We believe that every child has the potential to lead, and we give them the tools, encouragement, and opportunities to do so.
What sets NBGC apart is our focus on developing leadership through service. Young people at NBGC don’t just participate—they coach, mentor, organize, and give back. Through hands-on experiences, they build confidence, character, and lifelong skills that stay with them well beyond their time at the Club.
