It has been my honor to to participate in this annual fundraiser for Junior Achievement for the past 4 years. In the past year I have volunteered for 2 "JA in a Day" lessons where I taught 2nd grade and 5th grade students at Bishop Woods Executive Academy in New Haven, CT. Let me tell you, I certainly have a greater appreciation for teachers now that I have been in charge of a classroom. Seeing the children first hand and walking through the lessons with them, I knew that this was meaningful to them. The lessons JA has developed are geared to lay the foundations of financial literacy in our children. It helps them understand the world of business and personal finance, and to take charge of their own financial independence and economic freedom.
