Once upon a time, there was an 18-year-old girl from Chicago's west side. She found herself facing the challenge of becoming a mother without giving herself time to get established independently. Well, naturally, it was frowned upon by some friends and family members. However, the young girl chose to be the best mom she could be to her baby. She sought out resources and did her very best, and while she did not always follow the "correct" path, she found a way to stay employed and worked hard to provide her kids with the best life. Along her journey, she found a program that changed the trajectory of her life by changing her perspective and making her feel empowered. It allowed her to build lifelong friendships and connections and gave her communal support at a time when she needed it most.
That mom was me...
Update.... I am:
✨ A college graduate.
✨ Currently pursuing my master's degree in Healthcare Administration.
✨ Gainfully employed at one of the best universities in Illinois.
✨ A mom of 3 wonderful adult children.
✨ A wife of 13 years (same relationship of 27 years).
✨ An entrepreneur.
✨ A mentor.
✨ An Associate Board Member of the program that changed me!
Remember, your beginning does not determine your end. It's what you do in those in-between moments that define your outcome. You are the architect of your future. No one can prevent you from achieving all that your heart desires. NEVER FORGET THAT!
