Community Events Highlights

Our community fundraisers have been busy. Whether it's a life-saving lemonade stand or a motorcycle ride to help fight cancer, no matter how they fundraise, they help Nemours Children's deliver the nation’s best care to kids.

Enjoy these highlights from our most recent community fundraising events. 

Janes' Cocoa and Cookies for Kids

On Saturday, December 2, for the second year in a row, Jane Greeley sold cocoa and cookies at her home town's holiday parade, raising funds for other families at NCH, Delaware  like Jane's who need ECMO to breathe for them and pump their hearts while they’re being treated for a life-threatening illness.

St. Cecilia Children’s Choir Holiday Concert Fundraiser

On December 2nd the St. Cecilia Children’s Choir of the San Jose Catholic Church in Jacksonville, FL raised $1,771.00 for Nemours through their holiday concert. Three parishes came together to bring this concert to life, spreading holiday cheer for the entire Jacksonville community.

Osprey Point HOA Fundraiser

The Osprey Point HOA from Sussex Country, Delaware joined forces to collect $10,000 in support of the Child Life Team in the Delaware Valley. It is their hope these funds will be used to support patients and their families who call Nemours Children's their "home" this holiday season. 

UAHL- Ultimate Adult Hockey League Annual Golf Classic

UAHL Director of Operations and Experience, Jerry Kodopidis, presented a check for $1,000 as well as in-kind donations of toys to support the Nemours Children's Health Child Life Department in the Delaware Valley. This partnership is the beginning of many events from their Golf Classic raffles to an upcoming toy drive.

AKA Zeta Omega Chapter Benefit for Sickle Cell Research

The Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Zeta Omega Chapter, hosted an event raising $2,500 for Nemours Children's Health to be used for Sickle Cell Research in honor of longtime and beloved leader, Mrs. Willie M. Jackson. Not only did their chapter raise funds but the decked the halls of the atrium in their notable pink and green colors in Sorer Willie Jackson's memory.

Rossi Elementary School

Rossi Elementary School in Vineland, New Jersey, hosted a school service project in honor of current teacher and Nemours parent, Rabiyya Bellamy. Rabiyya’s son, Dominic, has been treated at Nemours since 2017 and their family continues to donate books and supplies benefiting Nemours Child Life. This year, they presented hundreds of coloring books and crayons to be distributed in the hospital as well as a check for over $600 benefiting Child Life. Thankfully, Dominic has made a full recovery and continues to be a beloved member of the Nemours community.

Markie’s Miracle Network 25 Year Cancer-versary Celebration

On June 15, Markie’s Miracle Network celebrated Mark’s 25 Year anniversary with Nemours Oncology and the life he has created since being cancer-free. The carnival was open to all patients and families with dozens of volunteers providing games, treats, crafts, activities and more! In honor of Mark’s anniversary, Markie’s Miracle Network fundraised and presented Nemours Oncology with a check for $25,000 to support services provided to patients and their families. What a terrific day filled with laughter and fun!

Raging Raymond Fluke Tournament

Raymond celebrated his seventh birthday with his favorite nurses, physicians and family! After a birthday celebration his family presented a check to benefit Nemours Children’s Health Deptford/Cherry Hill in honor of the clinicians there who have become like family to them. Raymond’s family hosted Raging Raymond’s Fluke Tournament on June 3, raising $6,000 while doing what he loves most- fishing!

Delaware Disc Golfers Tournament

On May 6, 2023, the Delaware Disc Golfers held their annual tournament on the grounds of the Nemour Estate and raised $6,000 for the Child Life Program at Nemours Children's Hospital, DE

 

 

2023 Battle of the Brokers Fundraiser

The 2nd Annual Battle of the Brokers took place on Weds April 19 at Bowlero on Kirkwood Hwy. The competition was fierce with local real estate offices and affiliates joining in to try and knock off the defending champions, RE/MAX Elite, to take home the coveted gold cup. Once again, proceeds from the event went directly to the Child Life Program at Nemours Children's Health in honor of Robert Antignani.
