Hey y'all! It’s fundraising time!

I’m part of the New York City Gay Men’s Chorus, which is exactly as fabulous as it sounds. We’re an internationally renowned performing arts institution that’s been belting out harmonies, changing hearts, and wearing sequins since 1980. But for me, this isn’t just about music.

Being in the chorus has honestly freed me. It’s given me a chosen family I didn’t even realize I was missing. Every week, I get to walk into a room full of brilliant, hilarious, big-hearted people and sing, and somehow, in a world that feels heavy and hostile toward queer and especially trans people right now, that act of joy becomes a form of protest. Our existence on stage is resistance.

Symbols matter. And while rainbow crosswalks are literally being torn up in some places, we’re out here creating rainbows with our voices: loud, proud, and occasionally a little off-rhythm (but that’s why we rehearse).

Every dollar you give helps us keep doing this: performing across NYC, visiting LGBTQ+ youth shelters, supporting queer elders, and showing up in spaces that desperately need visibility, love, and hope.
