On February 10, 2020 our son, Jack, was born with a complicated, life-threatening congenital heart defect (CHD), transposition of the great arteries. At three days old, Jack underwent extensive open-heart surgery in NYC at New York Presbyterian with an amazing pediatric cardiology surgical team. They saved Jack’s life.….and in doing so, they saved ours.
Today, Jack is a healthy, happy three year old little boy who is able to live life without limitations. If you had asked us three years ago what our greatest dream was for him - it was this.
The surgeon and cardiac team that saved Jack’s life were able to do so in large part because of the CHD research that has been done, and continues to be done. Today, Jack is supported by a wonderful and talented NYP-based cardiology team and continues to benefit from the CHD research efforts helping to advance care and treatment for pediatric cardiology patients. The Children’s Heart Foundation is the country's leading organization solely dedicated to CHD research. Their mission is to advance the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of congenital heart defects by funding the most promising research.
We are honored to be able to run for an organization that has such an amazing impact on the lives of children and families impacted by congenital heart defects.
Thank you so much for your support. It means the world to us.
