Monte and Celia Akridge

Monte has lived with Parkinson’s for 20+ years. As you know, he was very active in learning and involving himself in activities that helped him remain healthy for as long as possible. His wife, Celia, has cared well for him through the various phases of this disease.

Besides serving on the board of the Parkinson Foundation of Oklahoma, Monte also participated in the very first LOUD Crowd® and was instrumental in forging the partnership with INTEGRIS to bring this innovative therapy to Oklahoma. He took advantage of other exercise, support, and educational opportunities provided by the Foundation.

Following in his steps his daughter, Lynn, now serves on the board.  Her family, as well as Monte & Celia, donate regularly to The Parkinson Foundation of Oklahoma because they know firsthand the difference that these services make for Parkinson’s families. 

On August 15 (4 days after Monte’s 81st birthday), we will be walking for Monte!  Would you consider supporting us?  Thank you for your continued prayers and love.
