Why JA?
My WHY started with my own poor financial choices. When I first learned about JA I was amazed at the variety of curriculum available for students K-12. Wow! After 13 years of being a part of Junior Achievement of Oklahoma, I'm incredibly proud of the work JA does to prepare students to compete in a global economy. I am also proud of my personal financial growth.
"At Junior Achievement we believe in "possible." Each day, we work to help young people discover what’s possible in their lives. We do this by helping them connect what they learn in school with life outside the classroom." Instilling in first graders the difference from needs and wants, to helping eigth graders learn about the multitude of career choices, to educating high school students about budgets and spending habits provides this relevance to everyday life.
When I share the mission of JA with others, I hear the same thing over and over. "I sure wish I had had JA programs when I was growing up!" With your help, we can continue to offer the best resources for student development in financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy!
As at 501(c)3 organization, fundling for JA programs is realized through corporate partnerships, foundation grants, fundraising events, and individual giving. Play 4JA Sitcom Bowl is a combination of fundraising and individual giving. We need your donations for this peer-to-peer fundraising event to reach its goal of $100,000 that will help Junior Achievement of Oklahoma reach over 50,000 students this year with quality programs and student events.
Thank you in advance for your support! I appreciate each and every gift, no matter the amount!
With gratitude,
Terry
