Like many I was completely unaware how Parkinson's affected the lives of those diagnosed and the worlds around them until it finally touched mine. Knowing how much PD affects a person's life now, I am so amazed and proud by the effort my mother has put forth into tackling this disease.

It would be easy to let PD overcome you, and I wouldn't fault anyone who has felt that is what has happened for them. 

I hope by supporting Oklahoma's Parkinson's Foundation and embodying my mother's determination to take life into her own hands. We can encourage and give the tools to those who are overwhelmed so that they can join us and feel they can take back what is rightfully theirs.
