The brothers of the Epsilon Eta chapter of Kappa Alpha Order at Virginia Tech have a deep respect for those who fight for our freedom and risk their lives in order to do so. By taking part in the Independence Fund (Operation KARE), we want to give back to those who have given so much to this great nation. Operation KARE raises money to buy Track Chairs for wounded veterans. With the addition of a Track Chair, wounded warriors are able to partake in any activity that their heart desires. Each Track Chair costs $20,000, and our goal as a chapter is to raise at least enough money to provide one Track Chair to a veteran. As a chapter of Kappa Alpha Order, we take pride in the fact that we are militarist in organization and feel a duty to help out veterans that have returned back to the states. Virginia Tech has strong military roots in the Corps of Cadets and originally started as a military school. We hope to honor the tradition of Virginia Tech and Kappa Alpha by respecting and giving back to veterans. The gentlemen of the Epsilon Eta chapter strive for greatness by teaching humility and respect. Built on morals and carrying the KA values, the brothers of Epsilon Eta hope to achieve our goal.
