"The gentleman of the Zeta Sigma chapter of Kappa Alpha Order at Southern Illinois University Carbondale has partnered with the Independence Fund in order to raise the money needed to purchase an all-terrain wheelchair for a wounded veteran. These chairs allow their recipient to live a more active lifestyle and the ability to experience nature without having to worry about their mode of transportation. Some chairs even allow veterans to participate in other activities and sports, such as golf. We have decided to pair up with the Alpha Eta chapter at Westminster College and the Alpha Delta chapter at William Jewell College. Our chapter goal is to raise, at a minimum, $6,000.00 which equals to about 1/3 of the money needed for a new chair. Together, we hope to achieve our joint goal of $20,000.00 for a new track wheelchair. We hope that you considered helping us give back to our veterans."
