Greetings,

As some of you know, I became the Chief Operating Officer for BCS in 2014.  While I had an idea of what goes on at BCS from reading the website and talking to people, I had no idea of the full magnitude of services, the dedication of staff, and all that goes into serving  thirteen thousand people each year.  

I wish you could meet our staff.  You would be awed, for example, by the compassion and tenacity of our social workers who go into the homes of families in trouble and provide counseling and support to strengthen the family unit to keep them together.  I wish you could meet the formerly homeless women who live with mental illness whom my staff have placed into housing -- they are amazing.  There are also the people living with developmental disability who work in places like Marshall's and Nathan's at Coney Island as well as our own small business, who are thriving and giving back to the community with the guidance and support of BCS job coaches and trainers.  

Your donations help us to do what we do.  You enable us to ensure that the women we place in housing have new sheets and a pillow for their new home. You help our job coaches to ensure that our clients are ready for that first interview, looking good and feeling confident.  Books for our day care centers, curriculum for our after school programs, computers and basket balls for our Youth programs all of these things and more are made possible with your help.
