One Winter Night

FIRST WEEKEND IN FEBRUARY

What is One Winter Night?

One Winter Night (OWN) is an annual event that provides a powerful opportunity for our community to learn about homelessness, build empathy for the people we serve, and discover ways to partner with us in our mission.

OWN 2024 kicked off Friday, February 2nd with the OWN Outdoor Challenge. The Challenge asks people to get uncomfortable and experience the difficulties our clients may have faced while homeless on cold winter nights. Participants raise funds and awareness by spending the night outside in tents, cars, or makeshift shelters. An evening program educates participants on the root causes of homelessness, and staff share insights and stories about ways our “Pathways to Progress” program brings stability and hope to our clients.

On the evening of Saturday, February 3rd we held our first-ever OWN Benefit Auction! There were both silent and live auctions for vacation trips, sports memorabilia, gift baskets, and more. The proceeds will support our year-round mission of helping people find stability. Saturday night also included music and an inspiring message from our executive director. We also honored a much-valued community partner, Lisa Rector, with our inaugural “Above and Beyond” award.

One Winter Night is an evening of empathy-building, frigid fellowship, and an engaging program! Click on the buttons below to learn more about each aspect of this annual event!
